Driver Identified in Fatal Motorcycle Crash Investigation

The Richmond Police Department Crash Team is investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that occurred over the weekend that resulted in a fatality.

At approximately 1:28 a.m., Saturday, August 16, officers were called to the 2800 block of Rady Street for the report of a motorcycle crash. Officers arrived and located the operator, Alfonso Goodwyn, 58, of Richmond, on the ground and unresponsive, suffering from injuries from the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.

The RPD Crash Team responded to the scene and have determined that Goodwyn was traveling westbound on Rady Street when the crash occurred, no other vehicles were involved in the crash, and speed may have been a factor which resulted in the crash.
