Victim Identified in Second Homicide on North 21st Street

Richmond Police Department detectives have identified the victim of the second fatal shooting on North 21st Street within one week as Shannun Nolan, 41, of Richmond.

On Friday, January 30 at approximately 3:25 a.m., officers responded to the 1600 block of North 21st Street after the gunshot detection system reported a gunfire alert. Officers arrived and located an adult male, Nolan, down and unresponsive in an alleyway next to an apartment building. He had suffered an apparent gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injury later that morning.

The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.

At this time, detectives do not believe this shooting is connected to the homicide investigation from the incident one block away on January 25.
