Richmond Police needs the public’s help identifying and locating the man responsible for a robbery yesterday at Wachovia bank, 3501 W. Broad St.
Around 2:52 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, a man approached a teller, indicated that he had a gun and demanded money. The man ran away from the bank, headed east on Broad Street.
The suspect is a black male, age 35 to 40, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a thin build. He was wearing a dark-colored, Kangol-style cap, a black jacket, black pants and white tennis shoes.
The suspect in this robbery also may have a connection to a bank robbery attempt in Henrico. A male fitting a similar description tried to rob the BB&T bank in the 5600 block of West Broad Street about 20 minutes before the Wachovia robbery.
Anyone with information about the suspect in the Wachovia robbery is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.
