RPD Proud to Welcome New Communications Officers

The 9-1-1 dispatchers are the first responders you rarely see, but always hear. And tomorrow, Chief Bryan T. Norwood and the Richmond Police Department are pleased to welcome the 12 new communications officers as they graduate from the Division of Emergency Communications Academy.




“These communications officers are trained to handle incredibly stressful situations quickly all while coordinating communicating with the appropriate police, fire and emergency response units,” Acting DEC Capt. Tom Nolan said.



The graduation will be at 1 p.m. tomorrow at the Richmond Police Training Academy, 1202 W. Graham Road. The public and the media are invited to attend.
