BACKGROUND: Chief
Alfred Durham and the Richmond Police Department will honor Richmond Police
personnel and their community partners for their crime reduction efforts,
contributions and acts to aid in the “Richmond Resurgence.”
The Department will present its prestigious annual awards in the following categories:
· Precinct of the Year,
· Sector of the Year,
· Rookie of the Year and
· The Dominic O. Tabb Communications Officer of the Year.
Also, three of the Department’s top awards – the Medal of Valor, Police Medal and the Life Saving Bar – will be presented to officers for their invaluable, courageous and heroic actions in the line of duty.
The Department recognizes the efforts of those who contribute to its successes twice a year with an awards ceremony.
The public and
members of the media are invited to attend.
