The Richmond Police
Department has identified the victim in yesterday’s shooting in Southside as Desean
R. Lucas, 28, whose last known address is in the 400 block of
Westover Hills Boulevard.
Shortly before 11:30 a.m.
yesterday, officers responded to the Motel 6 in the 100 block of Greshamwood
Place for a report of a person down. When officers arrived, Lucas was found
on the floor and unresponsive inside of a room suffering from a gunshot wound.
The Richmond Ambulance Authority pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
The Medical Examiner will
determine cause and manner of death.
The Department is
investigating this incident as a homicide. No additional information is available at this time.
