The Richmond Police Department has identified the male who was the subject of yesterday’s death investigation as Joseph A. Harris III, 43, of the 300 block of East Jerald Street, Henrico.
Saturday at approximately 7:43 a.m., officers were
called to the 2000 block of West Cary Street for the report of a person
down. Officers arrived and found Harris down and unresponsive in a rear parking
lot of an apartment building. He had suffered from an apparent gunshot wound.
The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and
manner of death.
While this investigation continues, detectives do
not believe Harris was involved in a random act and detectives are not seeking
any other suspects at this time.
