Richmond Police detectives have identified the victim in Friday night’s fatal collision on Hull Street as Talmadge Simms Bey, 64, of Richmond.
Friday night at approximately 9:12 p.m., officers were called to the 2600 block of Hull Street for the report of a vehicle striking a pedestrian. Officers arrived and found the adult male, Bey, down and unresponsive in the roadway. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death.
Investigators with the RPD Crash Team responded to the scene. It has been determined that Bey was walking the double yellow lines before venturing into the westbound lane of travel; the striking vehicle traveling in the westbound lane collided with Bey. Ultimately, Bey was struck by another unknown vehicle, who was traveling eastbound.
The driver of the first striking vehicle, an adult male, remained on the scene. At this time, no charges have been filed. The driver of the second striking vehicle did not remain at the scene.
