Driver of SUV Sought in Hit and Run
Investigators with the Richmond Police Department’s Hit and Run Unit are asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the driver who left the scene of a collision last week.
At approximately 9:15 p.m., Thursday, March 2, an adult male was operating his motorcycle eastbound on West Cary Street when he approached the intersection of South Robinson Street. The driver of a dark-colored SUV disregarded a red light and entered the intersection northbound on South Robinson Street. The motorcycle collided with the SUV in the intersection.
The driver of the SUV left the scene. Officers were called and the male, the sole rider of the motorcycle, was transported to a local hospital with injuries that were not considered life threatening.
The driver’s side of the SUV was damaged in the collision.
The motorcycle was equipped with a video camera. Images from the camera are attached and a short video of the collision can be found here:
