Victim Identified in West Federal Street Homicide
Richmond Police detectives have identified the victim of the homicide on Federal Street last night as James Champion IV, 43, of Richmond.
At approximately 7:15 p.m., officers were called to the 100 block of West Federal Street for the report of random gunfire. Officers arrived and found an adult male, Champion, in the stairwell, down. He had sustained an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
