Cause of ATV Crash Sought
The Richmond Police Department Crash Team is seeking information on the cause of an ATV crash on Dock Street on Saturday.
At approximately 7:45 p.m., officers were called to the 2100 block of Dock Street for the report of a single-vehicle crash. Officers arrived and found an adult male down in the eastbound lanes of the roadway. He was transported to a local hospital with injuries that were considered life threatening.
The injured male’s all-terrain vehicle was located at the scene, on the Virginia Capital Trail, which runs parallel to the roadway.
The RPD’s Crash Team responded. Investigators are seeking information about the circumstances of the crash. The individual may have been part of a large group of ATVs and motorbikes which were operating recklessly through the city at the time of the crash. Investigators made arrests and seized motorbikes on Saturday following an investigation of the group.
