Persons of Interest Located in Scotts Addition Homicide Investigation
The three persons of interest, subjects of an advisory on Saturday, sought by detectives in the homicide investigation of Jacob Baldwin, have been identified and contacted by detectives.
Detectives sought to identify these individuals so they could share with investigators possible information about the incident. Detectives do not consider them suspects and are not looking for other suspects in this investigation at this time.
The Richmond Police Department thanks local media and community members for sharing the information regarding this incident and the persons of interest being sought.
At approximately 2:14 a.m., Saturday, October 12, officers were called to the 2800 block of West Marshall Street for the report of an aggravated assault. Officers arrived and located Baldwin down and unresponsive at the intersection of West Marshall and North Sheppard streets with an injury to his head. He was transported to a local hospital with injuries that were considered life threatening. Baldwin succumbed to his injuries on Wednesday.
Nico Rivera, 27, of Mechanicsville, surrendered Saturday at RPD Headquarters without incident and has been charged with second degree murder.
