Pedestrian Identified in Fatal Collision on West Carnation Street
The Richmond Police Department
Crash Team has identified the pedestrian involved in the fatal collision on
West Carnation Street last Saturday as Lauren Jones, 40, of Richmond.
At approximately 5:30 p.m.,
Saturday, November 29, officers were called to the 6000 block of West
Carnation Street for the report of a vehicle striking a pedestrian.
Officers arrived and found an adult female, Jones, down and unresponsive in the
roadway. She was transported to a local hospital where she succumbed to her
injuries.
The RPD Crash Team responded to
the scene and interviewed the driver of the striking vehicle, who had remained
at the scene. Investigators have determined Jones was in the roadway when
struck by the vehicle.
The RPD Crash Team continues to
investigate. At this time, no charges have been filed.
