Michael Alonzo Robinson Jr., wanted for robbery in connection with a fatal shooting last Friday on Columbia Street, is in police custody.Robinson, 27, was arrested Thursday, March 22, by the U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force in Norfolk.
Richmond Police received a call at 1:56 a.m. March 16 for a shooting in the 1500 block of Columbia Street. When officers arrived they found Jerrod Oliver, 29, with several gunshot wounds. He was taken to VCU Medical Center, where he later died.
Robinson also faces charges in the Tidewater area. The charges against him in Richmond have been forwarded to the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office and additional charges related to the murder of Oliver will be sought in the coming weeks.
