The Richmond Police Department is investigating a fatal single-vehicle accident that claimed two lives.
At approximately 11:20 p.m., a vehicle traveling eastbound in the 5100 block of Cary Street Road left the roadway towards the right and struck several trees. The vehicle spun and came to rest in the middle of the road.
The two passengers in the vehicle, both males, died at the scene.
The Richmond Police Department Crash Team is investigating. They believe speed was a factor in this accident. At this time it is unknown if alcohol or anything else was a factor. The investigation is continuing.
Cary Street Road is closed between Libbie and Hillcrest avenues to accommodate the investigation. The road is expected to remain closed until around 9 a.m.
