A person of interest who is believed to have information
about the Mandalay Road homicide has been detained in Georgia.
Richmond Police detectives had been looking for Lionel Carter, III, 23, of the 600 block of
Westover Hills Boulevard, because they believe he may have information
about the fatal shooting of Kadijah N.
Stewart.
Stewart, 19, of the 700 block of Luton Lane, was found shot
to death inside a vehicle on Jan. 31 in the 2200 block of Mandalay Road.
Carter—who was wanted on several warrants unrelated to this
homicide--was arrested without incident in DeKalb County, Georgia, early Sunday
morning by the Fugitive Task Force there. He will have an extradition hearing
before being transported back to Richmond.
