We received a number of tips
from the community and used those to identify the suspect. The
information was broadcast to RPD officers.
At approximately 9 a.m.
today, Second Precinct officers saw the suspect - 26-year-old Marcus D. Griffis
- near Broad Rock Road and arrested him. Griffis has been charged with
robbery.

Police detectives need the public’s help to identify the male suspect in the
attached photos who robbed a bank this afternoon.
At
approximately 4:15 p.m.,
officers responded to the Suntrust Bank located at 4708 Forest Hill Avenue
for the report of a bank robbery. The suspect passed a note to a teller
and left with an undisclosed amount of money.
The
suspect is described as a black male, approximately 17-25 years old, 5’ 7”-5’
8”, and 140 pounds.
