The Richmond Police Department has
identified the victim of this morning’s homicide as Devon A. Lyles, 22, of
the 2100 block of Mandalay Drive.
At
approximately 2:37 a.m., officers heard gunshots and quickly
responded to the 1700 block of East
Broad Street for the report of a person shot. Once on scene, they found Lyles suffering
from an apparent gunshot wound. He was
taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The Medical Examiner will determine the cause
and manner of death.
Detectives have determined the victim
was shot in the 200 block of N. 18th
Street and ran to the 1700 block of East Broad Street where he collapsed.
