Richmond Police Department detectives
have identified the two victims in a death investigation that occurred earlier
this week as Mary M. Barnes, 81, and Sylvia D. Barnes, 61, both
of the 7600 block of Forest Hill Avenue.
At approximately 7 p.m. on
Wednesday, April 1, officers responded to a call for two people down inside
an apartment in the 7600 block of Forest Hill Avenue. The caller
identified themselves as a family member who was there to do a welfare
check. Once on scene, police discovered the bodies of Mary Barnes and her
daughter, Sylvia.
A preliminary investigation shows no
signs of trauma, foul play nor drug use. The Medical Examiner will
determine the exact cause and manner of death.
