A male who had been charged with abuse and neglect of a child in connection with a death investigation last year has now been indicted for murder by a grand jury.
Isaiah Nipson was indicted following the death of his daughter, a toddler in his care, in 2019. His booking photo is attached.
At
approximately 11:31 a.m. on Tuesday, August 6, 2019, officers were
called to the 1300 block of Coalter Street for the report of a child in distress.
Officers arrived and found the unresponsive child. She was transported to a
local hospital where she later died.
Detectives
with the Major Crimes Youth and Family Crimes division have been investigating
the incident and presented information to the grand jury, which resulted in the
indictment of Nipson on October 21 for charges which include murder, abuse and
assault.
