Richmond Police detectives have made an arrest in last month’s homicide on Deforrest Street.
Alex Coles turned himself in to detectives on Monday. He has been charged with murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. Detectives are not currently searching for any other suspects. His booking photo is attached.
At approximately 12:09 am on Friday, January 22, officers responded to the 2100 block of Deforrest Street for the report of shots fired. Officers arrived and found Marquis Bowles, an adult male in his twenties with apparent gunshot wounds. He was pronounced on scene. A juvenile male in his teens was transported from a nearby location to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
Detectives have determined these two incidents are related.
