Richmond Police detectives have identified the victim in this morning’s homicide in the Bellemeade neighborhood as Sylvester Washington, a male in his forties.
At approximately 2:38 a.m., officers responded to the 2100 block of Harwood Street for the report of a shooting. When officers arrived they located Washington, down and unresponsive on a sidewalk, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death.
