Victim Identified in Maury Street Homicide
Richmond Police Department detectives have identified the victim in the homicide on Maury Street on Tuesday as Tegene Birke, 56, of Richmond.
At approximately 12:55 p.m., officers were called to the 3400 block of Maury Street for the report of a person shot. Officers arrived and found an adult male down and unresponsive in a parking lot. He had suffered an apparent gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
