Suspect Identified, Sought in North 19th Street Aggravated Assault
Richmond Police detectives are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Ladell Holmes, 23, of Richmond, the suspect in a strangulation and aggravated assault that occurred last month in the Shockoe Bottom neighborhood. A photo of Holmes is attached.
At approximately 11:35 p.m., Sunday, March 26, officers were called to the 00 block of North 19th Street for the report of an assault. Officers located an adult female who had been injured after being assaulted by an unknown male in an alley off of North 19th Street.
During the course of the investigation, detectives received important tips from the public and, thanks to that information, have determined the suspect is Holmes.
The victim reported she was walking in the area when assaulted by Holmes, who strangled and struck her, seriously injuring her leg. Detectives ask the public not to engage with Holmes if seen, but to call 911.
