Richmond Police detectives have charged a man for the bank robbery that occurred yesterday.
At approximately 12:53 p.m., officers were called to the
Wells Fargo bank, located at 801 E. Main St., for the report of a robbery. A
bank employee reported a male handed a note to tellers demanding cash. He
received cash and left on foot southbound towards Kanawha Plaza.
Officers and detectives responded, circulated in the area
and quickly developed information that led to the suspect being arrested as he
ran southbound across the Manchester Bridge.
Detectives charged Joseph D. Matz, 47, of no known
address, with bank robbery. His photo is below.
