Suspect Charged in Hull Street Road Homicide, Aggravated Assaults

The Richmond Police Department has charged a Mineral, Va. man in the homicide and aggravated assaults that occurred on Hull Street Road last month.

Darrell K. Daniel, 30, of the 3400 block of Johnson Road, Mineral, has been charged with murder, aggravated malicious shooting, malicious wounding and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony (x3).

Thanks to the media coverage which broadcast images of a person of interest in this case, detectives received several tips from the public that identified Daniel.

Daniel, with the U.S. Marshals’ Regional Fugitive Task Force actively searching for him, turned himself in to the Louisa County Sheriff’s Office on March 17 without incident.

At approximately 1:09 a.m. on Wednesday, March 14, officers were called to a business in the 3900 block of Hull Street Road for the report of a shooting. Officers arrived and found two males in the parking lot who had suffered apparent gunshot wounds. The victims were transported to local hospitals. Timothy Vest, 33, of the 5300 block of Blue Ridge Avenue, succumbed to his injury at the hospital. The other male’s injury was not considered life threatening. Later, a third male transported himself to a local hospital with a gunshot wound which he reported occurred at the scene. The injury was not considered life threatening.
