The Richmond Police Department, with the assistance of several law enforcement partners, have made an arrest in connection with a shooting on Lamberts Avenue earlier this week.

Shackleford, 32, of the
2900 block of Monet Court, was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service in
North Carolina last night. He was charged with attempted murder and use
of a firearm in the commission of a felony. His mugshot will not be
available until he is extradited from North Carolina.
At
approximately 10:39 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19, Richmond Police officers
responded to the 2700 block of Lamberts Avenue for a shooting. Once on
scene, they found an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.
He was taken to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Richmond
Police made this arrest with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Capital Area
Regional Fugitive Task Force, U.S. Marshals Eastern District of North Carolina
Violent Fugitive Task Force, Cary Police Department Emergency Response Team,
and Wake County Sheriff’s Office Tactical Response Team.
“Thanks
to the relentless pursuit by the U.S. Marshals Service and the assisting
jurisdictions, this violent individual was captured within approximately 24
hours,” said Major Crimes Lt. Richard Edwards.
