BACKGROUND:
For
the third year in a row, The Richmond Police Department is
partnering with Toni Jacobs, mother of Keeshae Jacobs, to hold
the third annual Richmond Missing Persons Day Rally.
This event is in response to former Gov. Terry McAuliffe’s proclamation designating April 29 Virginia Missing Persons Day establishing the Commonwealth’s commitment to “ensuring the safety and well-being of its citizens.”
“It breaks my heart knowing so many children and adults are missing in our area,” said Toni Jacobs. “I don’t wish this kind of heartache on anyone. This event shows our support to those families and let them know they have not been forgotten.”
Jacobs’ daughter, Keeshae, was last seen on Sept. 26, 2016.
Richmond Police officers will also at the event and providing educational materials and information to help keep loved ones safe.
The general public is invited to participate and honor those who are missing. Several speakers are scheduled to appear. There will be food, music, and activities.
Members of the media are encouraged to attend.
