Information Sought in Shooting of Juvenile Female

Richmond Police detectives are asking anyone with information about this morning’s shooting of a juvenile female to contact detectives.

At approximately 12:30 a.m., officers were called to the 2300 block of Joplin Avenue for reports of random gunfire and the shooting into an occupied dwelling that had resulted in an injury. Officers arrived and found a juvenile female under the age of 15 in an occupied dwelling who had suffered an apparent gunshot wound. She was transported to a local hospital with an injury that was considered life threatening.

Officers, the Forensics Unit and detectives from Major Crimes have been investigating through the morning and urge anyone with information to contact detectives.
