The Richmond Police Department last
night declared an Unlawful Assembly during a protest at the J.E.B. Stuart
Monument. The action was taken as protesters threw objects at the officers and
tied a rope to the statue in an apparent attempt to pull it down – an action
that would have put many people at risk of being hit.
Six people were arrested under
state code 18.2-406, taken to the Justice Center for processing and then
released. They are:

Paul E. Behrends, II, 23, white male, Richmond –

Robert W. Wood, 20, white male, Henrico – photo

Summer A. Orcutt, 30, white female, Richmond

Thomas J. Feeney, 25, white male, Richmond

Anna C. Posner, 21, white female, Lorton, VA
Posner was re-arrested after she
returned to the statue. She was charged with another, related offense - under
state code 18.2-407.
One RPD officer was injured when he
was struck on the arm by a thrown brick. He was treated at the scene.
