Arrests Made During Protest at RPD Headquarters

A large group of protesters assembled at Monroe Park last night, Wednesday, September 23, 2020, around 9 p.m. They then marched to the Richmond Police Department’s Third Precinct on South Meadow Street and demonstrated there for about 30 minutes. The group then came to RPD Headquarters at 200 West Grace Street, where they remained for approximately four and a half hours.

While outside RPD Headquarters, protesters were observed spray painting the building, attempting to blind police personnel by shining lasers at them multiple times and blocking traffic.

The protest at RPD Headquarters resulted in three arrests. Booking photos of the individuals are attached.

Noah Woodruff is charged with disorderly conduct for pulling an officer’s shield.

Lynn Murphy was served with an outstanding warrant for obstructing free passage.

Dani Short is charged with obstruction of justice for interfering with the arrest of Murphy.
