Man Arrested for Brandishing Firearm near circle at Monument & Allen Avenues

September 8, 2020

During a citywide task force walk-through on Monument Avenue last week, RPD officers arrested Keyon S. Hardy. He was taken into custody Thursday, September 3 in the 400 block of North Allen Avenue.

Hardy had an outstanding warrant for brandishing a firearm in the same area from the day before. He is also charged with possession of ammunition by a felon. His booking photo is attached.

Also attached is a photo of the weapon recovered by officers. It was originally believed to be a military-style assault rifle, but upon closer examination it was found to be a BB gun.  There were no indicators on the weapon that it was not a real firearm.
