Victim Identified in East Blake Lane Homicide

The Richmond Police Department has identified the victim in Friday’s homicide as Jeremiah Darden, Jr., a male in his 20s.

At approximately 12:33 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, officers responded to the 00 block of East Blake Lane for a report of a person shot. When officers arrived, they found Darden in the roadway. He was taken to a local hospital with injuries that were considered life-threatening. He later died at the hospital.

The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.

The area of the shooting is near the busy intersection of Hull Street and East Broad Rock Road. Detectives ask anyone traveling in the area at the time who may have observed suspicious people or a situation to contact detectives.
