Arrests Made in Broad Rock Homicide

The U.S. Marshals Service has tracked down and arrested three people in Chelan, Wash., wanted in connection with a Richmond murder last month.

Noel Garcia, 24, and Evelin Jakelin Escalon-Murillo, 23, are charged with conspiracy to commit first degree murder. A third person, Everado George Dela Mora, 35, is charged with accessory after the fact.

Just before 2 a.m. Saturday, June 11, Richmond Police received a call for random gunfire in the 3000 block of Broad Rock Boulevard. When officers arrived, they found Daniel Cortez-Cisneros inside a car. He had been shot. He was taken to the hospital, where he died of his injuries.

The U.S. Marshals Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force based in Richmond contacted their West Coast partners with the Pacific Northwest Violent Offender Task Force on Monday, June 27, to advise that the three suspects may be in Chelan, near Spokane. Task force members and Chelan authorities arrested the three Thursday, June 30.

The Richmond Police Department thanks both task forces for their work to successfully apprehend these murder suspects.
