The Richmond Police Department asks motorists to be aware of the following major street closures and traffic disruptions in the downtown area in the next few weeks.
Because of the Lincoln movie filming around the Capitol area and Governor’s mansion, the following streets will be closed or traffic stopped intermittently during the designated times:
On Tuesday, Nov. 29:
• There will be intermittent traffic control, such as stopping all traffic for brief periods of time, on East Broad Street between 9th and 14th Street from noon to midnight
On Wednesday, Nov. 30:
• There will be intermittent traffic control, such as stopping all traffic for brief periods of time, on East Broad Street between 9th and 14th Street from noon to midnight
On Thursday, Dec. 1:
• Ninth Street from East Main to East Broad streets will be closed from 9 a.m. to midnight
• Bank Street from 9th to Governor streets will be closed from 9 a.m. to midnight
• There will be intermittent traffic control, such as stopping all traffic for brief periods of time, on East Broad Street between 9th and 14th Street from noon to midnight
• There will be intermittent block closures and traffic control, such as stopping all traffic for brief periods of time, on East Grace Street, East Broad Street, East Franklin Street and 8th Street around the Capitol area from noon to midnight
On Friday, Dec. 2, and Saturday, Dec. 3:
• There will be intermittent traffic control, such as stopping all traffic for brief periods of time, on East Broad Street between 9th and 14th Street from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m.
On Tuesday, Dec. 6:
• Bank Street from 9th to Governor streets will be closed from 9 a.m. to midnight
On Wednesday, Dec. 7:
• Ninth Street will be closed from East Main to East Broad streets from 9 a.m. to midnight
• There will be intermittent traffic control, such as stopping all traffic for brief periods of time, on East Broad Street between 9th and 14th Street from 9 a.m. to midnight
• There will be intermittent traffic control, such as stopping all traffic for brief periods of time, on Bank Street from 9th to Governor streets from 9 a.m. to midnight
• There will be intermittent traffic control, such as stopping all traffic for brief periods of time, on East Broad Street between 9th and 14th Street from 9 a.m. to midnight
On Thursday, Dec. 8:
• Bank Street will be closed from 9th Street to Governor street from 10 a.m. to midnight
• Ninth Street will be closed from East Broad Street to East Main Street from 10 a.m. to midnight
• There will be intermittent traffic control, such as stopping all traffic for brief periods of time, on East Broad Street between 9th and 14th streets from 10 a.m. to midnight
On Friday, Dec. 9:
• Bank Street will be closed from 9th Street to Governor street from 10 a.m. to midnight
• Ninth Street will be closed from East Broad Street to East Main Street from 10 a.m. to midnight
• There will be intermittent traffic control, such as stopping all traffic for brief periods of time, on East Broad Street between 9th and 14th streets from 10 a.m. to midnight
• There will be intermittent block closures and traffic control, such as stopping all traffic for brief periods of time, on East Franklin and East Grace streets near the Capitol area from 10 a.m. to midnight
On Monday, Dec. 12:
• Ninth Street from East Main Street to East Broad Street will be closed from 6 a.m. to midnight
• Bank Street from 9th Street to Governor Street will be closed from 6 a.m. to midnight
