Arrest Made in Stockton Street Homicides

In less than 24 hours, Richmond Police detectives have identified and arrested Randy L. Trent in connection with last night’s double homicide.

Trent, 20, of the 700 block of Stockton Street, has initially been charged with conspiracy to commit murder, but other charges are pending. This investigation remains ongoing.

At approximately 10 p.m. Wednesday, officers received a call for shots fired in the 700 block of Stockton Street. When they arrived, they found Ahkeem K. Phillips, 28, of Virginia Beach, shot to death in the lobby of the apartment building. His brother, Ahmad K. Phillips, 24, of the 700 block of Stockton Street, was taken to VCU Medical Center where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Detectives believe the motive for these shootings was a dispute between neighbors.
