Westover Village Drive Homicide

Richmond Police detectives are in the early stages of a homicide investigation on the city’s Southside.

At approximately 4 p.m. today, officers were called to the 5800 block of Westover Village Drive for a report of a person shot. Officers arrived on scene within minutes and found an adult male suffering from a life-threatening gunshot wound.

He was taken to VCU Medical Center for treatment and later succumbed to his injuries.

The victim has been identified as Jazztyne Johnson, 30, and he was shot inside his residence in the 5800 block of Westover Village Drive.

Detectives do not believe this shooting was random and are following up on several strong leads.
