The Richmond Police Department has identified the victim in
a homicide that occurred last night in the city’s north side.
At approximately 9:28 p.m., officers were called to the 4900
block of Old Brook Road for a report of a person shot. Upon arrival, they
located Amiya Moses, 12, of the 1400 block of Treehaven Drive, at the
rear of the building suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. She was
transported to a local hospital where she later succumbed to her injuries.
Detectives canvassed the area and are actively working all
available leads in the case. The investigation is ongoing.
