Police Seek Information in Jefferson Davis Corridor Shooting

The Richmond Police Department is seeking information regarding a shooting which occurred early this month in the Northern Barton Heights neighborhood.

At approximately 9:25 p.m. on Friday, June 1, an off-duty Richmond Sheriff Deputy advised of shots fired in the 2300 block of North Avenue. One minute later, police received a call for a person shot within the same block.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital where he is still receiving treatment for his life-threatening injuries.

No suspect information is available at this time. Police are still investigating this incident.
