The Richmond Police Department has identified the victim who has succumbed to his injuries in a life-threatening shooting that occurred late last month on Bethel Street.
At approximately 2:57 a.m., on
Tuesday, May 29, officers responded to the 2300 block of Bethel Street for the
report of a person shot. When police arrived, they located Charles H.
Pope Jr., 30, of the 5000 block of Cheshire Drive, Hopewell in a vehicle suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He
was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries. Pope Jr.
succumbed to his injuries yesterday.
The Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of
death.
