Arrest Made, Victim Identified in Chamberlayne Avenue Homicide

The Richmond Police Department has charged the suspect in yesterday’s shooting on Chamberlayne Avenue. Anthony Dandridge, Jr., 21, of Richmond, was arrested on scene by Richmond Police officers. Booking photo is attached.

RPD detectives, investigating the Chamberlayne Avenue shooting, have charged Dandridge with second degree murder and use of a firearm in commission of a felony.

Detectives have identified the victim of the shooting as Dylan Johnson, 22, of Richmond. Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at approximately 5:55 p.m., Richmond Police officers responded to the 4900 block of Chamberlayne Avenue for the report of a shooting. Once on scene officers located an adult male down with an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
