The Richmond Police Crash Team has identified the driver who died in a single-vehicle collision last night, August 14, on North 5th Street as Garrett Long, 26, of Harrisonburg, VA.
At approximately 10:34 p.m., officers were called to the northbound lanes in the 800 block of North 5th Street for the report of a single-vehicle collision. Long, the only individual involved, was operating a motorcycle when it struck a curb, left the roadway, and collided with a pole. Long succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
The RPD Crash Team responded to the scene and the investigation is ongoing.
