 Victim Identified in Chamberlayne Avenue Homicide

Richmond Police detectives have identified the victim of the homicide on Chamberlayne Avenue last night as Daniel Mallory, 36, of Richmond.

At approximately 9:20 p.m., officers were called to the 2700 block of Chamberlayne Avenue for the report of random gunfire. Officers arrived and found an adult male, Mallory, down and unresponsive in an alley. He had suffered an apparent gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Detectives are investigating this shooting as a homicide. They ask anyone who heard shots in the area or anyone who saw suspicious activity last night to call investigators.
