Identified in West Cary Street Homicide Investigation
                              
Richmond Police detectives have identified the victim in the West Cary Street homicide investigation as Kwaivon Dejesus, 36, of Richmond.
Yesterday, at approximately 4:29 p.m., officers were called to the 1400 block of West Cary Street for the report of a person shot. Officers arrived and located an adult male, Dejesus, outside of a church suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The investigation indicates the shooting followed an altercation between the victim and another adult male.
The Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
