Richmond Police Graduates 110th Basic Recruit Class

WHAT:                   Richmond Police 110th Basic Recruit Class Graduation

WHEN:                   10 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, 2015

WHERE:                 Cheek Theater, Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, 200 N. Boulevard

BACKGROUND:     Mayor Dwight C. Jones, Chief Alfred Durham and the Richmond Police Department are proud to welcome 28 new officers to the force and invite the public to their graduation and swearing-in ceremony tomorrow.

J.D. Ross, a recently retired RPD sergeant for whom the Training Academy's J.D. Ross Servant Leadership Award is named, will give the keynote address.
 
The diverse recruit class includes individuals from Virginia to California, New York and Florida. They speak multiple languages besides English, such as Spanish, French and Urdu. After 30 weeks of training at the Department’s Academy, the 110th Basic Recruit Class will immediately begin patrols with each graduate assigned to a field training officer for the next eight weeks.
