Arrests Made Following Traffic Stop Incident, Mayday Activated

Richmond Police officers have arrested several men on multiple charges following a traffic stop and subsequent assault that occurred last night in the city.

At approximately 11:59 p.m., Wednesday, April 1, officers conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at the intersection of 21st Street and Keswick Avenue. During that stop, two RPD officers were assaulted by two bystanders. The officers activated a Mayday call for assistance.

James Taylor, 22, and Samuel Taylor, 24, both of the 1800 block of Keswick Avenue have each been charged with Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer.

The driver of the vehicle, Tayvon Taylor, 23, of the 1800 block of Keswick Avenue has been charged with Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Deliver, Possession of a Firearm while in Possession of Narcotics, Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Possession of Marijuana.
 

The three men are brothers.
