Suspect Photo from East Main Street Assault

Detectives need the public’s assistance in identifying the man, in the below photo, believed to be the suspect in an aggravated assault that occurred this week.
 
At approximately 8:13 p.m. Tuesday night, officers were called to the 1500 block of East Main Street for the report of an aggravated assault.
 
A female reported she was walking eastbound on East Main Street when a male grabbed her and threatened her with a knife. She was cut on the arm as she broke away from the suspect. The suspect fled on foot across East Main Street southbound towards the river.
 
The victim received treatment at a local hospital for injuries that were not considered life threatening.
 
The suspect is described as a black male, early 20’s, light complexion, 5’9 to 5’10” in height, an athletic build with short, black curly hair. He was wearing white trousers and a dark-colored shirt.
 
Major Crimes detectives are investigating.
