The Richmond Police Department, in
consultation with the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, has ruled the fatal
shooting of Alex Jackson in Creighton Court last month as justified.
At approximately 12:23 a.m., March
27, RPD officers were called to the 2100 block of Creighton Road for a report
of a shooting. At that location, they discovered Jackson’s body lying on the
ground outside a residence.
After a thorough and complete
investigation, it was determined that the fatal shot was fired in self-defense.
The adult male who shot Jackson will not be charged.
A second adult male, who suffered a
non-life-threatening gunshot wound in the incident, has been released from the
hospital.
