Arrest Made in Warwick Avenue Homicide

The Richmond Police Department has made an arrest related to Saturday’s homicide on Warwick Road.

Detectives arrested John B. Harvie, 57, of the 2800 block of Scarsborough Drive and charged him with robbery and use of a firearm in commission of a felony. Additional charges are pending. His photo is attached. Detectives believe Harvie and the victim were known to each other. Harvie surrendered to detectives without incident late Sunday night.

At approximately 6:18 p.m. Saturday, police responded to the 5200 block of Warwick Road for a report of a person down. When officers arrived, they found Katherine A. Wiglesworth, 47, of the 9100 block of Military Road, Amelia Court House, with an apparent gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead on scene.

A medical examiner will determine the cause and manner of death.
