Richmond Police detectives have identified this morning’s
shooting victim on Raven Street as Kendell L. Coward, 34, of the 1900 block
of Raven Street.
At approximately 2:18 a.m., officers were called to the 1900
block of Raven Street for the report of a person down. Officers arrived and
found Coward inside an apartment, suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He
was pronounced dead at the scene. The Medical Examiner will determine cause and
manner of death.
Detectives with the Major Crimes Unit are investigating the
incident and believe Coward was shot while entering the structure, where he
died.
